Inspection:
Each belt roll is thoroughly inspected before packing, even after thorough in-process process and quality checks while being manufactured. Inspection includes dimensional stability, roll heights, zero telescoping.
Packing:
Belt rolls, after inspection clearance, are packed suitably to withstand the rigours of long shipment having multiple transfers of loading and unloading, including trucks, containers, ships, etc. Each roll is properly marked inside and outside the packing for easy traceability.
Ozone:
As ozone can be particularly damaging to vulcanised rubber, storage rooms should not contain any equipment capable of generating ozone such as high voltage electrical equipment, electric motors or other equipment which may give rise to electric sparks or electrical discharges. Combustion gases and organic vapours should be excluded as they may give rise to ozone via photochemical reactions.
Packaging:
Belting requiring long term storage should be bound with steel or high tenacity plastic or textile straps and protected with waterproof plastic material. A supporting centre core of suitable dimensions manufactured from wood or steel should be specified at the time of order. Keep the belt packing on as a protection from oils, solvents, corrosive liquids, ozone, sunlight and other adverse weather effects.
Storage
Due care is taken to ensure that before actual move-out of the factories the packed belt rolls are kept properly protected from vagaries of weather. Storage locations are at a convenient height for easier handling but clear of any water or dirt on the floor.
Transportation
Belt rolls undergo a long haul by road, by sea and again by road or rail till final destinations. In between there can be additional loading and unloading at warehouses before the rolls reach customer stores. Due care is taken to ensure the use of quality transporters and shippers for damage free fast travel.
